First time Camino-Why do I feel so compelled to do this?

Hello all! My name is Liz and I will be walking The Camino Frances from late June until the end of July, and looking forward to a great adventure! What is it about this journey that is so compelling? Have I ever thought I wanted to walk everyday for a month? No. Have I ever thought that I would be okay with sleeping in a room with dozens of other road weathered pilgrims? No. Am I looking forward to throwing all caution to the wind and getting out of my comfort zone? Absolutely, YES! It's strange how things just come into your life and they are meant to be. Here's to the journey!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

You are answering the call of the Camino! You can't ignore it.
Don't go with too many expectations but be open to the gifts of the Camino.
Often we read other people's accounts and want everything that they had - all the magic, the spirituality, the camaraderie, the intense friendships etc.
Make this Camino your own. You can have those things, and more, but your role might be to create those gifts for others. Be prepared to share magical moments, extend your frienship to others, be an angel on the Camino. I'm sure you'll reap more than you sow!

Thanks for that response! It really struck a chord with me. I will try to remember that along the way!
