First time Pilgrim for The Way of Saint James

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I do think that even in April 2022 there will be less pilgrims walking than before the C19.
Which Camino do you plan to walk?

If it is the Camino Francès or the Camino Portugues you don't need to fear that there is no accomodation available. Maybe you have to walk a bit further or shorten your planned distance. But you will find a bed for the night.

The Camino provides. Even in times of C19!

I have walked in March and April. Never had a problem finding a place. Albergues can get cold. My 40 degree quilt is plenty warm. We are walking the Portugues Camino as I write this no one has brought Covid up. We always have masks available when we are in business or close to others in the communities.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

How has finding a place for staying at night been with Covid? Does there seem to be the normal number of pilgrims hiking the trail?
You can study the statistics available on this page. In recent months, there have been fewer pilgrims walking than "normal" years (i.e. 2019 and before) but that doesn't necessarily tell us anything useful about availability of beds. Albergues have capacity limitations, and many have closed. There are pinch points along the camino and on certain days of the week.

To see how things have been recently, you can read the threads shown under "Pilgrims walking now," on the main forum listing - they are all labeled as "LIVE from the Camino". As for April 2022, we really don't know either how many pilgrims there will be, or how many beds will be available.
