Hi there, beautiful pilgrims!
I am wondering if anybody else arrives in Madrid on May 4th at 6:15 am? I understand that there is a bus or train I could take to Pamplona to start my walk but being new and never been to Spain, I could use the company of another soul.
I know I should not be scared but I am
Thank you!!!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Thanks.
I'm still waiting for another soul to arrive the same day. I cannot believe I might be the only one on May 4th...

I had never travelled alone either before I did my camino. People are surprisingly generous with their time and welcome.. you'll be fine. Buen Camino!

I feel like some time ago I've seen a list with people starting on certain dates.
If the administrator see this thread maybe can help ?

Hi Cristie, don't worry you will be not alone. You will meet lots of other pilgrims along your journey and sometimes mabe more than you want to.
Wish you a wonderful time and a Buen Camino, Peter.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
There will be probably dozens of pilgrims starting their Caminos the same time as you. Don't base Camino activity on this forum's members.
You can take a bus to Pamplona from the airport in Madrid. It leaves from outside the terminal.

If @JohnnieWalker was here he'd tell you Nunca se camino solo.
Nobody walks alone.
I've just been re reading my notes from when I walked last year. My first night in Spain was in Irun.
I spoke no Spanish and the locals seemed to speak no English. It mattered not one little bit. We waved
arms, shouted at each other and looked at pictures on phones. All was well. All manner of things were well.
My notes say "If the rest of Spain is like this, I'm going to have a great time" and I did.
You'll be fine Christie. Don't be scared, be nervous.

Buen Camino

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Christie,
My wife and I will be in SJPP on May 4 and in the Orisson on the nite of May 5. If you are there we'd be happy to start the Camino with you. PM me.

Hi Christie, I was terrified the day before we began walking, but by the end of the first day most of my fear was gone. Spaniards are some of the most hospitable and lovely people we have met. I envy you being over there.
Buenos Camino

Hi Cristie,
I'm arriving in Madrid early in the morning the day before you - on May 3rd. Airports are full of people who have never been there before, don't speak the local language, and need help. And airports are also full of staff who help people in this situation. You'll likely see some folks with backpacks who are heading to the Camino and you can hitch along with them. Maybe see you in SJPP. Jill
