Time of past OR future Camino
Done....Frances, Norte ,Primitivo, Finisterre
Future ...via de la plata
Its really gonna happen. Ive booked my flight and first nights accommodation. I shall be starting from SJPdP on April 20 2013. Im sooo excited. I walked the Camimo Finisterre in June as a trial run and was really glad I did because it taught me loads like my rucksack was way too large and I had packed far too much and blisters are flippin nuisance. I will start my spanish lessons after christmas along with some serious training. Any one else heading off around that time? It would be great to hear from you. :D

Hi Trishkerry,
Have you heard of Michel Thomas. He is a linguist genius who mastered the teaching of 10 languages in his lifetime. We have lost him now but his cd's are readily available. Movie makers used his lessons to get people up to speed very quickly. I started less than 2 weeks ago and can't believe how quickly I have started to pick up the ideas of thinking in Spanish. I drive, wash dishes and vacuum during my lessons.

Excellent news, Trish! Your idea to walk the Finisterre route was obviously a wise one. It should give you confidence for the Frances, which has less asphalt so that might help your feet a bit.

Buen Camino! :D

What is the actual distance and how long is the estimated walk Trish ?

Congratulations on booking your tickets!! I just bought mine recently (though for June), so I share your excitement and anxiousness. I too have been testing the weight of my backpack, and obtaining appropriate gear for the long trek. I wish you the absolute best in your Camino planning :)

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Nearly 800km/500 miles from SJPdP to SDC. This can take 4-6 weeks even more or less depending on the walker.

Very happy for those who will be walking in 2013! I wish you the best of times.

Trust in the arrows.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi Trish,

Congratulations! It sounds like you are well prepared for this journey. Will you be walking all the way to Santiago?

I will be in SJPP on April 20, starting one of my tour programs. I hope to see you, and do let me know if I can help in any way.

Buen Camino Frances!

Yes walking all the way (God willing). I have the forum badge sewn onto my backpack to look out for me and be sure to say hi. See you there :D

Thanks for the tip. I have now got the CDs and like you, I listen to them through out the day. Even listen to them in bed but he has such a soothing voice that I always fall asleep within 10 minutes of listening.

Hey Trish!

I should be starting about the same day as you! I’m flying to London to stay with my sister for a couple days, arriving April 17th. The plan so far is to make my way to SJPDP on the 19th or the 20th and start walking on the 20th or the 21st. Perhaps we’ll run into each other! :D

I've joined the committed club having booked my flights yesterday! Staring St Jean PDP on 10th May. I too walked the Ingles last September as a trial. I had no problems so got carried away and continued with the Finisterra! Does the Camino bring the child out of us? :)
Good luck and Buen Camino to all
