Earlier this year (2022) the coastal option between Ciboure and Hondarriabia (the Corniche d'Urrugne) was closed due to landslides. Does anyone know if its been re-opened yet?

Still official closed, and unlikely to be open soon as due to cliff instability. There is an alternative route marked from Socoa to near Château Abbadia on quiet roads up in hills. I did a version of it recently though went up riverside path in Socoa (stop at Lidl was called for) before joining the alternative and heading to Hendaye Plage. I will see if I can find link for official alternative and post later

Hello,
The coastal path (which is not the Way of Saint James) is closed to pedestrians from Socoa because it is too dangerous.
The Way of Saint James does not follow the coast : in Ciboure you have to take the street on the left of the church and follow the Jacobean markings until the Saint James bridge in Hendaye
I am a native of Ciboure and I know the place very well

please could anyone advise the current status of accomodation in albergues et al. We (couple) are starting on Wednesday next week. Thanks
Hello everyone, I will have to work digitally about every other day from Irun to SdC (bringing an iPad). What are the wifi connections like along the entire route? What about the Primitivo? Thanks.
I’m travelling to Irún today to start my Camino tomorrow morning - I’m flying to Biarritz getting in at 4pm, planning on catching the bus to Hendaye and walking to the pilgrims hostel from there...
An article on the El Correo website reporting on very high occupancy rates at the albergue in Markina on the Camino del Norte. Full almost daily...
