Hi everyone!

I remember back in 2012 and 2013 there was a "Forum app" for this particular forum. I think it was pretty cool to be able to be in touch with our loved forum with a dedicated app.

I know this needs to be developed and maintained but we might probably have some fellow pilgrims on the forum that could help Ivar with that.

I'm not talking about a Camino-App but only of a more precise and efficient way to have access to the forum from my Smart Phone other than using its browser ( user experience not that good).

I'd even be willing to pay (a small fee) for such app as I think I'd be using it daily !

Anyway, just food for thought.

What do you guys think about that?

I found it was easy to log on to the forum using a standard browser on a smartphone. The site is pretty mobile friendly these days, and I my experience is that the user experience was really quite good. @vlebe, have you tried it recently on your smartphone? If you haven't, it's probably worth checking it out.

The site works well on my iphone but you can try also tapatalk.

thanks very much indeed for ( as usual) being so responsive to our questions @SYates and @dougfitz !

Yesterday I have tried using the forum over my phone's web browser and it was indeed pretty easy to do so. It's not as smooth as a proper app but it's usable for now.

I used to have the TapaTalk forum app activated for the forum... but the had security issues, and I got scared and deactivated it.. would love to have a dedicated form app. The forum has an API (for the techies out there), so it is possible... but development would be costly either way, so I have left it to the "mobile version in the web browser" for now.

I have a few feelers out and have talked to a programmer in the Santiago area.. and will get a quote for an app like this soon. Let's see... either way, there will be nothing in the near future.

Open for ideas.

That's very good to hear Ivar! I wish I could help out with this development ( if I had the knowledge I'd probably do so as a volunteer just to improve our beloved forum experience!)

But its always good to know there might be news on this area soon!
