Hello Forum, I have a flight to Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg coming up. I was meant to be walking in Germany with a friend, not a Jakobsweg/Chemin this time, but he's unable to make it as he's moving home currently ... I've walked from Geneva previously, but I got accommodation with a guy who is part of the association/amis/amigo... Is there a similar option in Basel as I am always super scared of the cost of Switzerland...

Hi, have a look at https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland.
The 7 Via Gottardo starts in Basel; there is the 5 Juraweg. The pelgrimsroute 4 Via Jacobi is another option.

From comparing prices for my upcoming trip to the UK for a Hardrian's Wall Walk I'd say, fear not too much about Switzerland. That being said, prices are definitely higher than Spain or Portugal.

Hi it’s not only about prices but you will experience a very different kind of hospitality. Nothing compared with the kindness on the Camino ways in France, Spain or Portugal.
But I am sure you are aware of that.
Take care and « Buen Camino «
