From NZ to Camino del Norte

I'm flying into Biarritz from London on April 17th 2017 to begin the Camino del Norte from Irun the next day. I have allowed plenty of time for short days or side trips with my departure from Santiago on May 27. My husband and I previously walked the Camino Frances in April May 2015. This time I am walking on my own.

Have fun! Be sure to enjoy to enjoy some Menu del Dias along the way - the food is so much better on the Norte - and the scenery is stunning.

Hi Viv, I'm arriving in SJPP on the 16th and starting the following day, hopefully I'll bump into you at some stage. It's my fist walk and I am going on my own. Safe travels..

It would be lovely to meet up with another Viv, but probably not this time as I'm walking the Norte.

Jill, I have read of you walking the Voie Littorale and onto the Camino del Norte. I am considering starting to walk from Biarritz, which I fly into, rather than hopping straight to Irun. I have a bit of lee way with my timing so should have plenty of days.
What did you think of this part of your walk? Would it be a good introductory 2 days instead of the challenging first day out of Irun?

Hi Vivienne, that would be a great idea. You could walk the coastal path all the way from Biarritz to Hendaye, and then get the ferry across to Hondarribia. It would definitely be a good introductory 2 days. It’s a lovely walk.

Hi Viv - George and I are leaving NYC on the 18, beginning to walk on the 20th. I'll still be wearing the same jacket (making its third camino appearance)! Hope to see you somewhere - Buen camino - Cherry
