Just a quick question. What is the best way to get from Santiago to Dublin in early October ......

1. The best way? Hitch a ride on a yacht from A Coruna or one of the other ports.

2. A more practical way ... Santiago airport SCQ has flights to Dublin. I guess if there are not flights when you wish to travel you could go by way of London or Madrid.

Stupid me would guess Ryanair, or Google.

Aer Lingus out of Santiago de Compostela airport (not daily). If that doesn't suit you, Ryanair out of Vigo airport can be another option (not daily). If that doesn't suit you either, Ryanair out of Porto Airport could be another option (not daily)...

There are Aer Lingus flights to Dublin on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until 29 October. After that you'll need to look at other options for direct flights, as suggested by the other posters.

It's also worth checking the price of connecting flights from Santiago to e.g. Madrid, Barcelona or London and taking a flight home from there. Having said that, I took a train from Santiago to Madrid last year and really enjoyed the journey. It was a nice way of winding down before the flight to Dublin.
