Hi everyone

I will be arriving in Santiago (from Glasgow, Scotland)in the begginning of August.
I hope to begin my pilgrimage in Sarria (110km from Santiago) where i will walk to de Compostela.
Can anyone recommend the quickest/cheapest (and safest)form of transport from Santiago to Sarria?
Anyone have any advice regarding the weather and conditions on route from Sarria to Santiago in early/mid August ?
I will be travelling alone so if anyone has any general advice in particular with regard to safety, where not to go etc. that would be most appreciated.
Thankyou and best wishes from Glasgow, enjoy your journey!
Paul

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Hi Paul,

I know RyanAir is starting a new route from Liverpool to Santiago in October (I think it was October), but until then the only RyanAir option would be from Stansted.

Can anyone recommend the quickest/cheapest (and safest) form of transport from Santiago to Sarria?
Bus seems to be the best alternative. Have a look here for more details:

August is in general very warm. It is also the moth when Spain "closes down" for vacation, so it will be busy.
For some more ideas on the weather, have a look here:

You say you will be traveling alone, I say "I don't think so..." :) In august you will walk with many pilgrims, especially from Spain since this is the month that they take off for vacation. In addition, as you probably know, the Sarria - Santiago walk is the last leg on the camino frances. With so many pilgrims on the road, you should be safe and should not worry.

If anyone has any other advice for Paul, please post it here!

Buen camino and welcome to Santiago,
Ivar
