August 2016 . Pamplona to Santiago.
Hi I'm from Finland and I am planning to bike the Camino from St. Jean Pied de Port in May next year.
It has been a dream of mine for sometime, and now I decided that it is time to take action. It is something that I really long for. As my favorite author writes "One day you will wake up and there won't be any more time to do the things you've always wanted. Do it now" -Paulo Coelho-

You have a very good forum here and I find it very useful and inspiring :)

Best wishes to all of You! Ulla

Thank you very much Aidan :)
Very good choice of author.
This is indeed a good place to find all the advice you need for a beginner. I have been training a lot, but I think the best ting to do is to take it slowly in the beginning of the journey. I always ride very fast and I think this will be the hardest thing for me to learn, to slow down.
Hope to get my bike on the plane and train and I have to learn how to assemble it as well.

Have a nice walk in September :)
Buen Camino

Hi, Ulla!

In 2011 I've met a biker from Austria and asked him about the transportation of his bike to St.Jean PdP. I know there are several trains throughout Europe that allows bikes, but weren't sure about airline companies. He told me that at GermanWings they are very bike-friendly (http://www.germanwings.com/en/index.shtml). From the quick view at their website I can only tell that they fly from Helsinki and the connections to several Spanish cities are through German airports.

Hope that helps! Ultreia!

Just a quote and nothing to write about? :D

I can't get this thing working. I use an Ipad but for some reason it wouldn't post my answer or then it is just ME :) have to try again.

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).

My iPad behaves odd sometimes too. There's no place to write the message.
It helps to reload the page. :)

Hi.
Thank you for your link. I found that they do the cheapest flights so far. By flying to Frnkfurt and from there to Bilbao I will save money.

Thank you again :)

Well, as I found out you could save even more money. For example the flight on 25th Oct with GW from Helsinki to Frankfurt costs 725€ and from Frankfurt to Bilbao another 208€, that's 933€!!!

But with Vueling (www.vueling.com) on the same day flight from Helsinki to Bilbao (overnight stay in Barcelona) costs just 103€ o_O

Better check those companies over and over again ;)

Take care!
