Guardian Angels are everywhere...

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Portugués (September, 2017)
If you read my post "I am the peregrina who was assaulted before Sacavem on Camino Portugues", you will understand why getting to see what should have been my first night at an Albergue was very special to me

From my Facebook Page @Theworldmyvillage

Lesson learned. When you may start thinking you are alone and will have to take all that is coming your way on your own, look around and ask for help. Guardian Angels are everywhere. Yesterday was an example of this.

Oh and I even got to try a great Portuguese espresso (not shown on video)! As a coffee lover I could not say no

Thank you for posting this. I hope that one horrendous experience will be effaced by thousands of glorious ones. I wish you the very best that the Camino has to offer.

Good for you...your positive attitude and ability to overcome disaster allows you to see the good in people and the world in general. You went through a really bad experience and came out shining...your faith will be an example for many perigrinas and perigrinos.

You are too kind, giving me too much credit

The World My Village, I have been following this thread, your story, your experience, with concern and hope for your recovery. Today, the day in the Catholic Church calendar that celebrates angels, I offer a rapid translation of a comment by a Basque priest (Jose Antonio Pagola) on the subject of angels: "Today I invite you to think of all the angels in your life. They have influenced you in your story of love and friendship, women and men of flesh and blood who know how to imbue us with the strength of a love that does not give way under duress." I have paraphrased slightly, but my point in this response is to encourage you in your wonderful response to the trauma you experienced. When you get home, do what you need to for further coping. Buen Camino.

Kirkwall, thanks for this and thinking of me. Know that I am doing very well and continuing my travels. I am in Tomar now having a nice time. As a matter of fact I booked a hostel that I did not know where mostly peregrinos. I met a couple of lovely ladies that are part of this forum and knew by my story who I was. In addition to my surprise, today I was having a drink at the main plaza when I saw from a far the peregrino walking on this video. I run to him to introduced my self, we talked and then I guided him to our hostel. I was so happy to see him, even if this was the first time we talked, he was well and full of strength. I don't believe in coincidences, there are too many things happening that I may try to restart the Camino soon. Will see, my body and Santiago will let me know if I should
I have not been able to post much on my social media since Lisbon due to the bad internet speed and technical issues with my iPad, hopefully will be able to fix this in Porto.

I am so glad that this incident has not sapped your spirit. Angels are indeed around you, and more shall pray for you.

Yet, never be afraid of being an Angel yourself. That is where the greatest experience lies for us all.

The Japanese have a word for the ultimate duty of an Angel: In-to-ku - Do good in secret. Is this not an Angel's true nature? :)

Michelle, so true. In-to-ku. Thanks for sharing cultural knowledge as well

My new friends who I met at the hostel in Tomar. They are members of this forum and left early this morning to continue their Camino. I had to take their photo at 5:30am or so before they left. They are looking good.
Whishing them Bom Caminho!
