Hawaiian Surprise

So my wife and I were on a short coastal hike in Napali, Maui. The weather is stunningly beautiful and therefore I'm wearing shorts. My tattoo depicting a scallop shell with the cross of St. James in its midst is clearly evident on my calf as I hike. "Buen Camino perigrinos" is heard. As I turn around, I find a couple running up to meet us. The conversation turned to our shared experiences on teh Camino over a 10 minute discussion. All 4 of us hugged and we said our goodbyes with tears in our eyes. More than 7,600 miles away from SdC but felt as if we were smack in front of the cathedral. A great day!

Great story. We were flagged down in a grocery store parking lot by a couple because of our scallop shell on the back window of our vehicle a few weeks ago. Universal symbol.
