I hope to glean from your collective wisdom and help out as I become more experienced myself.

Am walking my 1st Camino, with a stop in Lourdes, leaving 9/7. I have my tickets but still working on what to bring.

Welcome to the forum.
Are you aware that there are Pilgrim groups in Seattle and Portland. You did not say where in the Pacific Northwest you are from.

Today, Saturday 27 July, the Seattle group is meeting for the annual St. James Day walk from St. Marks Cathedral to St. James Cathedral with a potluck to follow. Always many new people and those who have completed a camino or two. Expect about 100 or more today.
