Dear all

I just booked a flight to santiago de compostela. i arrive at Santiago around midnight.

I am planning to reserve a hotel in the city for the night.
Is it possible to find a taxi to take me to the city during the night and are there any hotels that allow check in after midnight

Also is it necessary to take a sleeping bag

All help would be appreciated.

Regards
Bharat

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi Bharat,

Is it possible to find a taxi to take me to the city during the night

There are taxis outside the airport doors (you can't miss them) they stay until the last flight has arrived. It looks like you have booked one of the last ones.. you should have not problem getting a taxi.

are there any hotels that allow check in after midnight
I would think most hotels in town would have no problem with this. Some family driven hostals might not, but my guess would be that you should have no problems with the majority of them. You could include your arrival time when booking to be sure.

I know these two have 24 hour check in (personal experience):

... and my guess would be that all of these would too (don't know them all personally, but would think so):

For an alternative list of hostals and hotels have a look here:

I hope this helps,

Hello,

Hotel Mapoula is in the centre near Plaza de Galicia and has 24 hour concierge, so I expect they let you book in at any time. It's about 39 euros in high season for a double with bathroom.

The rooms on the same level as the reception are biggest but they have plenty of others below for some more privacy.

Have a good trip wherever you rest your head.

Hello, What time does the office close in Santiago today? The website lists different times in different places.
The Santiago pilgrim office issued 3,171 Compostelas today. The second time so far this year when the total has been over 3,000. The first was on Good Friday when 3,193 Compostelas were handed out.
