International Meeting Point Santiago

"See you in Santiago" is something we've all said to pilgrim friends we've met on the way. Then you walk at different speeds or linger somewhere and you lose touch.

For some the usual meeting place in Santiago was the Bar Suso until they became semi retired. Many others left "see you at...." messages on the noticeboards of the old Pilgrims Office and lately the left luggage office. Both now gone.

Thankfully the Pilgrims House located just a few yards from the Pilgrims Office will be the International Meeting Point for Pilgrims. Now you can say: "No matter when you get to Santiago I'll see you at the Pilgrims House from 5 pm".

Please circulate this announcement to all of your contacts. It is currently being translated and posted on the forums of other languages as well as being circulated through the Amigos Associations.

This is a great and very convenient place to meet friends...before going for drinks, dinner, the forum meet up or the evening Pilgrims Mass.

Tell your friends!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi John -- Sounds great! I will definitely spread the word among my contacts. Could you elaborate on what services are available and what costs to pilgrims, if any, are associated? How large is the place (capacity)? Will it be open all year? And do you happen to have a couple of photos I could use on my site?

Hola @stratophile ! I can answer your questions. Pilgrim House offers the following practical services for suggested donations:
- Laundry services (5€ total for wash and dry)
- Printing boarding passes or other documents (0,20€ per page)
- Backpack storage (1,50€ per pack, per day)
- Coffee, tea, Cola Cao (1,00€ per cup)
All donations go back into running Pilgrim House.

Pilgrims are also invited to use the message board, kitchenette, and WiFi. Part of how we envisioned the welcome center was to also help meet pilgrims' spiritual needs, and as such we're available to pray with pilgrims if they find they need it after finishing the Camino.

It's quite a large space (2,000 sq. ft.), and capacity is about 30 - 40. We're open all year except for a couple of weeks in January and a few national Spanish holidays. Currently we're closed on Sundays and Wednesdays, but in the summer we'll be open on Wednesdays. (On days we're closed, pilgrims can meet in front of Pilgrim House and then head to a cafe.)

As for photos, would you mind passing me your email in a message and I'll send you a couple? I'm having trouble attaching them here.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
Take care,
Faith

If you spot any errors or have anything else I should add, just let me know. I'll add photos once you are able to get them to me. The same content will show up in the next update of my mobile app too

Just must complement the team at Pilgrim House for the wonderful hospitality and support.

I managed to check in online for my departing flight, print my boarding pass, have my clothes washed and dried , used the excellent WiFi and enjoyed the coffee with other Pilgrims who had just made it to Santiago. All in very nice surroundings

I heartily reccomend it
