Good Day All

I am planning to do part of the French pilgrimage in a couple of years. I have family in France and my Godchild will be doing his 1st communion in a couple of years, so I want to combine both events. One big benefit is that I speak French fluently. I'm thinking at this time to do the central or southern routes. Any suggestions who be very appreciated.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

The route from Le Puy is very picturesque-but pretty strenuous initially. The tranquility of France will be a contrast to the hordes you will encounter in Spain.

Hi Anne and welcome to the Forum :) ,
I have walked the Le Puy route twice and it is very beautiful, with plenty of gites on the route. I haven't walked the Arles route, there is a CSJ guide but I think there is less cheap accommodation along the way. I think that in summer this southern route would be even hotter than the Le Puy route.

Buen Camino,
Brendan

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
hello Anne,
When you say you want to walk "in a couple of years", does that mean in 2010? If so, please remember that 2010 is a Holy Year which means different things to different people. But one of the main physical differences to be aware of is that there are many, many more people on the camino - especially the Camino Frances in Holy Years. Obviously this has big implications for sleeping spaces along the way - so if that is the year you are going you will want to be prepared for that.
Buen camino
