Hello. I have cycled from home (central france) via Saintes, Bordeaux and the Camino Frances, and walked with a donkey from le Puy via St Jean, Hendaye, Camino del Norte, and Camino primitivo to Santiago. I've sent you a picture of Dalie, my travelling companion. I'm hoping to be at Conques in march as a hospitalier, and at Miraz in October 2006

Hi Barbara and welcome to this forum.

I saw the photo of your donkey that you have uploaded to the Photo Album in this forum, your travel companion look good... :)

Did you have any problems with lodging when you walked with him? Did you just "park" him outside? I am asking since we have had some people in this forum wanting to walk with their dogs.

Was the photo taken in Galicia?

If anyone else wants to have a look at the photo, click the "Photo Album" button at the top of the page.

Again, welcome!

Greetings from Santiago de Compostela,
Ivar

The photo was taken near Bilbao, I forget the exact county...
I mostly stayed in my tent in the same field (sometimes a garden, people were very good to me) Sometimes there was a refuge with enough grass to park a donkey, and I either tied her to a tree or set up her portable electric fence. Further on, when the weather was very bad, people sometimes lent me a stable or cowshed for Dalie while I stayed in a refuge or hotel. I think it would be much harder with a dog, as then it would have to be a tent all the time.
