Hola,

..am planning my pilgimage on Camino Frances for May-June 2008 and realized I will be there more than 30 days. Am a U.S. citizen that has travelled to Spain before but never for more than a week or two..Will I need a Visa?

Thanks

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
No, you can stay up to 90 days without a visa.

Here is a pagehttp://www.immihelp.com/visas/schengenvisa/requirements-exemptions.html
that lists countries exempt from applying for a Schengen visa, and you can stay 90 days. The USA is one of the exempt countries.

I don't know if this applies to the US or not, but some countries also have bilateral agreements where you can stay three months in each country.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Here's a quote from the section on Spain and Andorra:

ENTRY/EXIT REQUIREMENTS: A passport is required for both countries. U.S. citizens can stay without a visa for a tourist/business stay of up to 90 days.

So, looks like you're OK (I was in Spain for over 40 days, and I was good to go without a Visa - although I'd recommend bringing a Visa credit card that you can use for cash advances...)
