Keen on Comparing

Time of past OR future Camino
Ingles fr. Ferrol 8/2024
I am going to be walking in December and expecting much rain. For the most part, I plan on wearing my Topos but, as I have in the past, also changing shoes mid-day. Previously, I changed into Oofos but I think they will be too slippery under foot in the rain so I've been looking at Keens and trying to figure out what the practical difference is between the Keen Astorias and the Keen Newport H2 (the later of which I know is a Camino favorite). Has anyone tried/worn both or have any insight into the differences?

I was just at a Keen store last week. It looks like the heel of the Astoria is more elevated. But the Newport is heavier. On the Zappos site they state that the Astoria in a size 9 weighs 9 ounces per sandal, while the Newport in a size 7 weighs 12 ounces per sandal.

The average heel to toe drop on keens shoes is 10-15mm but the Astoria is 20.
I have also seen it mentioned that the Astoria is snugger fitting than the Newport.

Not sure what the Keen sandals are like but my Keen Targhee (V2 & V3) boots are hellishly slippery on wet rocks and wet wood. I love them for dry weather. Check if the Newport H2 has a better sole in the wet.

Hola, I gearing up to start my 1st CdS and have seen people recommended sleeping bag liners to protect against bed bugs. Do these help or is it a myth? Should I add the extra weight of bringing one?
