Le Puy Camino or Northern Camino

In April I’m returning to SJDP for a short trek to Burgos which is around 10 + days. Having completed the French way, Portuguese and first section of Le Puy to Conques , I’ll have another 10 days before SJDP or after Burgos to trek.
Q. Spend a week on another section of Le Puy and if so which section or after Burgos bus to northern Camino and walk from maybe Llanes for 10 days. I’m selecting Llanes as it seems to follow quiet coastal villages but I’m only assuming.
I’m now 71 so walking 20-25 km maximum a day is my comfort zone as I love to take short breaks and simply enjoy the surrounds .

Weather and holiday goers are an issue on both of those routes in April. It would be a lot easier to get to the Norte from Burgos. I walked from Le Puy to Toulouse around the same time of year and bused from Toulouse to Burgos and it was a total a pain in the neck because Flixbus seems to only operate on their schedule and not the printed schedule, i.e. my bus to Biblao was supposed to leave at 18h, it was 5 hours later before we departed..

After Conques, I found it was not quite as nice as the first part from Le Puy. Fewer places to stay and longer distances. So, I would suggest something else.

You already did the nice part of the Le Puy route in terms of scenery: Ardeche, Aubrac, the Lot Valley. After Conques the focus shifts to cultural and historic towns like Figeac, Cahors and Moissac. The abbey of Moissac and the Champollion museum in Figeac are highlights.

After Conques, I found it was not quite as nice as the first part from Le Puy. Fewer places to stay and longer distances. So, I would suggest something else.

I walked the Le Puy route as far as Auvillar and loved it. I did incorporate the Cele Valley variant after Cahors and it was absolutely outstanding!

My pals (aged 70+) and I just came back from The Célé Valley, GR651 variant out from Figeac and it was awesome, A couple days in Rocamadour was also super cool, take train north from Figeac, get off and hike 5 miles into town. In 2019 I found Llanes to be a wonderful surprise, wish my daughter and I could have stayed longer on our hike across the Norte. That whole northern coast line is beautiful.

I have been looking at the Camino Aragones that starts on the French/Spanish border and ends in Puente la Reina. I have read about it here and have watched some videos on YouTube and it looks really beautiful. There is lots of information here on the Camino. It is 165 k. For the fun of it I plotted out an easy 8 day camino that averages about 22k a day.

If you want to start your CF in St. Jean I am sure you could get a bus to Pamplona and then back to St. Jean.
After watching videos and reading about this Camino it is on my list for sure.

I loved walking the Aragones but I did it in May, the April weather could be a bit iffy around Canfranc.
