Le Puy in stages - June 2014

So, 21st June I fly out to Le Puy. I'll probably spend a couple of nights there, as it sounds as if there's stuff to see.

Then three weeks. Tentative plan: Moissac.

I return in October for two weeks.

Then in March/April 2015 for another four. Which, God-willing, should get me all the way to Santiago.

So, I have questions. Have you walked the camino in stages? Does it spoil the sense of journey? I want this mentally to be one pilgrimage rather than a series of walking holidays - how does one achieve that?

And, when you arrive in Santiago, can you give your starting point as Le Puy? Even though that was 9 months and several journeys ago?

Excited. Terrified. Buen Camino!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Does it spoil the sense of journey?
Only you can do that.;)

I doubt that there is a hard and fast rule on declaring your starting point. For purposes of data collection they probably want to know where you started your current pilgrimage, but I doubt that they care a great deal one way or the other. I suspect there is the occasional pilgrim who wants to declare that he started in his heart and decades ago, but finds that it won't fit in the little box provided.

Bon Chemin.

I started in Puy ended in Cahors. Started in Pamplona ended in Belgrado. Started in Ferrol and ended in Santiago. Started in Nijmegen ends in Aachen. Bits in between I caught trains, buses etc. Missing Köln to Metz to Puy and Cahor to Pamplona and Belrado to Santiago to Finisterre, but I still didn't spoil my journey(others on the Camino Frances did that - too busy)
