Walked Camino de Santiago from SJPD to Muxia 2018
Very dissapounted with Casa Alberdi at Los Arcos. I phoned and booked yesterday for a double room at a cost of 33 euro. On their website it states they open at 12.30pm and on the Frances app it states 2.00pm. We arrived at the albergue today at 2.50pm to find it all locked up and no one around. When i called the number the lady told me she was 20mins away. I explained that we had a booking and that i was under the impression they opened at 2.00pm. She said “no 3.30pm”. She then sent a friend to let us in, by this time it was now 3.30pm and she advised the owner would be another 30mins! She showed us to our accommodation and it was terrible. We took our bags and found another albergue. I would not reconnend Casa Alberdi!!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Spanish business owners run their businesses for themselves, not the customer. They are gracious and friendly, but they may not be prompt, and their own life is as important as the customer's life. You will find repeated frustration if you think "the customer is always right." It is the beginning of the season; she may have been getting toilet paper, and I am sure you would have liked to have some! ;)

I have stayed there before and would probably haven given a 2 star rating. The lady who runs it also runs a taxi service and she is rarely around due to the demands of her other business. The plus is, if you are on horseback they have a pasture and stables.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
