Hi there!
In my desperate attempt to find my friends on the camino, i'm writing this post.
I met Matt and Allison on 11-Oct-2010 at the pilgrim office and we were loosely saying 'hi' and 'later' here and there, and we were kinda close, as there were not too many English-speaking pilgrims around.
The last albergue we were together was in Los Acros and we were unable to meet up after that. Well we all thought we would be seeing one another again, until it's too late, right? As it was only the first week, we did not exchange contact.
They left me a funny post in the municipal at Leon on the guestbook on 30-Oct but I arrived only on 2-Nov. If you are in Leon, flip the guestbook and you will be amazed by what you see.
We were in the same albergue at Villafranca del Bierzo, separated by 3 days, as i asked the nice hospitalera for past record of pilgrims.
I tried to track them but 3 days on the camino is a big distance to catch. I arrived in Santiago on 15-Nov and they should be 3-4 days ahead. I was told that they went on to Finiserre, as i met someone who rested for 3 days in santiago. However she did not have their contact.
They were to go to Portugal after the camino and they did not know about the way to finsterre in advance. They were talking about going a little faster to save 3 days. I'm glad they did at the end.
So, if any of you happen to know them or know people who know this very nice Aussie couple, please let them know and pass on the contact.
Matt wears a very cool cow-boy hat and they carry identical Osprey 35L backpacks. Yes, 35L backpack in Nov, how cool is that!!
I really enjoy their companionship, though short, it is very memorable.
Cheers,
Joseph Ip
