Luggage Transportation

We’re planning to walk from Arles to Puente del Reina.La Malle Postale ( who were amazing on the Via Podiensis) only offer a service until La Salvetat-sur-Agout( 250km from Arles) and apparently no one else does luggage transportation until Somport. We necessarily don’t need our bag taken everyday but moved along until a bigger town like, let say, Toulouse where we can keep it in storage until we get there. Does this sound complicated to anyone ? Is there perhaps transportation of bags done for locals that a pilgrim could use ? Once in Spain and on the Via Aroganese we will use Correos. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
In May and June this year I carried my bag but three French ladies had a bag transported in the Haut Languedoc section. I understand they arranged it on a daily basis with local taxis and the cost was quoted to me one day as 40 euros for one bag. In light of this they shared one transported bag.

There are luggage delivery companies that can pick up and deliver to hotels. We used sendmybag.com to send our excess luggage from our London hotel to the Paris hotel we would finish our bus tour at when we did a month long Europe tour. These companies are aiming at a cheaper way to avoid airline excess luggage fees but will deliver anywhere. They may suit you if you know the hotel in the big city you will be staying at. You will need to notify the receiving hotel to expect your bags and check they are happy to accept them.
The only hassle I found was finding some clear stick-on address envelopes to put in our details and the receiving hotel’s address and stick on our luggage.
Hopefully this info is useful.
