Hi All
I am arriving Madrid 5:35pm and have to make a Ryan Air connection at 7:40pm-actually 7:15
How long does it take to go through customs and
what is the easiest and fastest way to get from T4 to T1? Can I actually do this?

Thank you

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
There's a shuttle bus service among the terminals. From T4 to T1, it takes 15 minutes. At your scheduled arrival time buses run every 5 minutes.

You are scheduled to arrive to Madrid at 17:35. Nobody can guarantee your flight won't be delayed...

There is a shuttle between terminals.

Usually Airlines provide a recommended time that you are at the departure terminal in advance of departure. I guess part of that is the 1915 for 40 bit where you have to be in the departure lounge. Usually for a domestic flight you should be there at least two hours in advance.

I note that you plan to arrive after that two hour window opens. You might make it ... assuming your flight is on time etc. However, I doubt it; you haven't done a good time appreciation for this.

OK, you have made booking. Don't panic. Yep, you will endure many minutes exiting aircraft. Perhaps you only have carry on luggage. Walk briskly to passport control, avoid escalators etc. Be positive, stay alert.
All going well I think it is possible to make connection. If you don't have EU documents there may be extra delays as I believe you must present at check in counter for verification. However, if allowed proceed at this stage , you will have sufficient time to clear security, passport control and walk to gate.
Hopefully other pilgrims previously arriving at T4 transferring to T1 will give advice.
