I will admit to loving maps and have a stash at home from memorable trips. I am happy that I can complete the Camino Frances with a simple guide and I don't want to carry the weight but increasingly I would like to have a 1:50,000 contour map in my mits, If only for the SJPP -Roncesvalles leg.

From a 2007 post an out of date link led me to the National Geograhic Institute of Spain and this pack of what I think are the first four maps on the Northern ( ie SJPP) route

http://www.cnig.es/resulBusquedaHome.do ... 8441615373

Has anyone puchased these? how long did they take to come? are they in the equivalent detail of a UK O/S Map ?

Thanks for help in treating the addiction

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
If you go to Peter Robins' site, you can go to the print function and print any scale you want:

http://pilgrim.peterrobins.co.uk/routes ... varro.html

I like the 13 magnification on the IGN map base, but print a larger magnification for cities. The IGN shows the GR routes. Peter's site has hundreds of routes. You can find an alphabetical listing in Modern Routes.

You click on the Print icon. In the new screen, you can move the map around and change your magnification. Naturally, a color printer works best. I use an HP inkjet portable. Print on both sides and save half the paper weight. Six sheets is about an ounce.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Hola Kevin,
Terry loves maps too. We bought the equivalent of OS maps - Mapas Militar - of Spain from
The Map Shop, 15 High St, Upton-on-Severn, Worcs, WR8 0HJ.
You can also order online:- http://www.themapshop.co.uk/.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Falcon many thanks - I will take a look. I guess I can print to A3 at my local office supplies shop and cover with fablon

Tia - great link thanks I will give them a call

I don't really need it for navigation but if I am lucky enough and the snow melts by the end of March (what is the chance?) sufficient for me to take the Route Napoleon, I would get a kick out of "situating the map"
