Masterpiece Mystery/Camino

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino 2024 unknown starting 4/1 from somewhere.
I was watching Masterpiece mystery (Inspector Lewis) and they mentioned the Camino twice. The Camino is becoming mainstream.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
In this UK-produced mystery series shown on US Public Television, the newly promoted Detective Inspector Hathaway refers to his "walk to Spain" and to the city of Santiago de Compostela. But he did make clear that it was NOT a pilgrimage.

I found this to be ironic as I believe in previous seasons, it was revealed that Hathaway had done time in a seminary. The passage of time and his life's experiences have seen his character grow in a spiritual sense, but also more cynical. I suppose that comes with the job of a homicide detective.

Later in the episode he clearly states he "did not go into the church." Finally, he stated that he walked from the UK (Oxford presumably, as that is where the series is situated) to Santiago, then "...turned around and walked back...." Evidently, he needed time to think after last season ended with a particularly nasty case that affected him personally and led to the retirement of his mentor and friend, Inspector Lewis.

I think I got it correct. I do enjoy this series, and most UK programming.

I watch this series too. Found it amusing that both Lewis and Hathaway referred to Santiago as a "village".

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hathaway turns back one village prior to Santiago and walks back to England. His walk was one of self-discovery, not a pilgrimage. When I heard him describe his walk, my first reaction was, "I wish I had done it that way."

Not seen this episode, look forward to seeing it on the repeats. Lewis (like Morse before it) has limited violence and bad language so they are something I can watch with my 90 year old mum.

They also have well-developed characters, intelligently written plots and tight dialog. These are all features sorely lacking in most US productions for television. Thank you UK!
