Medieval art and architecture of the Caminos

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Last year, and again we plan this year, we visited many of the pre-Romanesque sites. We had been able to visit some previously on foot while on Camino but last year used the car to reach those less accessible. Also we were able to reach other historic sites just too far to divert to from the Camino. This blog will be very useful for both walkers and others like ourselves who are now walking and also using transport to add to our knowledge of the old Camino routes and the many churches etc along the way.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Thank you for sharing this.
Wish you well, Peter.

I miss on that document a reference to the Swabian Kingdom of Galicia (Gallaecia). I think that the Swabians had more influence on the Camino than the Visigoths (who are mentioned).
Appart from some important events that happened during that period that lasted 180 years in centuries V and VI, the fact of 30.000 people moving from SW Germany to Gallaecia (Galicia, Asturias and North Portugal) could have left memories on the people of South Germany about the advantages of moving West and also in France because the Swabians were strong allies of the Franks.

Fantastic. Many thanks.
