Monte do Gozo

I am currently on the Camino. Well, I finished yesterday. Does anyone why the round sculpture/monument is missing at Monte do Gozo? I found the pilgrim statues, but only saw an empty spot for the other one.

I believe it was not weathering well and, rather than trying to repair or reconstruct it, they decided to remove it.

I couldn't find it either and eventually found the plates on the ground

Thanks for the information. I think the plates are now gone too. I didn't see them yesterday.

The are hard to see. They are in a little curved bowl in the ground

I was standing right and above it and didn't notice them, lol.

I should have taken a picture, then maybe I would have noticed the plates.

In 2019 the monument was blocked off by barriertape that was ignored by the most pilgrims.
As result they had to remove it.
