I can't wait! Arriving in St Jean Pied de Port on the 21st and staying at the Beilari the first night. I will start my walk on the 22nd
Have a lovely Camino. I will be ahead of you starting April 1. We did not book any accomodation but will probably stay at the municipal albergue in STJPDP. We also want to check out at the pilgrims office which route to take through the Pyrenees. Maya

Have a great experience, I'm a few days ahead of you . I start at the 18th of April in Sjpdp. Wish you well and a Buen Camino, Peter.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

I was going to stay at the Beilari in St Jean Pied de port on April 21st, but I have had no luck getting them to respond to my reservation request? So I'm thinking I might try to walk to Orisson? I get into SJPP around 13:00 and will have to go to the pilgrims’ office and don’t know how long that will take? Anyone have any suggestions?

Dependent on how busy the Pilgrim office is your visit should not take more than 15 minutes. The Pilgrim Office of the Amis du Chemin de Saint Jacques at 39 rue de la Citadelle usually stays open for the arrival of the last train. Their telephone is 05 59 37 05 09. In season the office is open from 7h30 to 12h30 and then from 13h30 to 22h. They can provide you with a Credential, current path/weather info and on-site lodging assistance. Their volunteers help run the municipal albergue at 55 rue de la Citadelle. If that albergue is full they will help you find other pilgrim lodgings when you are on site. They keep up to the minute lists of all available space throughout the SJPdP area.

Welcome Andrew, the walk to Orisson is 8km so about two and a half to three hours depending on how easy you want to take it.
Have a great Camino.
Buen Camino.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
