June/July 2015
Hi experienced and enlightened pilgrims by the blessings from St James,
I am planning a camino in the months of June/ July of 2015. My intention is for a spiritual renewal as I will be passing by an important milestone in my life. Help me here and please start from the scratch .... I am new here !!!! I will be beginning my journey for Camino from Denver, Colorado, USA.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Welcome Kurlya! You will find a wealth of information here on this wonderful forum and innumerous people who will be delighted to share their thoughts and ideas with you. This is truly one of the best resources out there. To start, I suggest you decide which route you would like to take, then do some searches on this forum to start looking at equipment and travel options. Once you have started to narrow down the possibilities, you can ask specific questions. You have many decisions ahead of you. :) Read memoirs, watch videos on youtube, and truly enjoy the planning process. The anticipation that builds as you plan can be very special in itself. What a wonderful adventure you've set out on. Buen Camino! Pennie

I am so excited for you! One of my more spiritual friends said when I went that I would have this spiritual experience, and I thought, "Oh, it's just a walk..." but it is a wonderful spiritual experience that you will never recover from - it's been a year, and I will have flashbacks in the middle of work of sitting at a sidewalk cafe or walking through a farmer's barnyard - really amazing things you will find.

Check out the book "Camino de Santiago (the St. Jean Pied de Port/Roncesvalles - Santiago de Compostela book)" by John Brierley. It has maps for each day of travel. You can go that far that day or not, but it has each town, the alternate trail choices available, the albergues along the way and a little information about each, etc. It tells you what you need to know about each place you come to, plus the distances between. It was our guide for each day. Just make sure the book matches your route - this particular one we got and it helped us as we went from Leon to Santiago.

That is the book I am reading right now. I also read the book " To the Field of Stars" by Kevin A. Codd. After reading through and looking at the route and the distance I am planning for the Camino Frances (800km). I will be celebrating the Silver Jubilee of my ordination to the priesthood... ( 25 years of Blessings). I thought what a great and best way to reflect and walk the way of wisdom and enlightenment. I am gathering all the informations I need... and with the help my fellow pilgrims... and prayers I am sure I will make it. I am so excited about the JOURNEY OF MY LIFE. Thanks for your words of wisdom.
