My wife loves great whores of history and pounced on it, but eventually I'll get to read it, and if it doesn't have too many big words fro me, I'll return with a book report.

Congratulations Rebekah!

I have done little to promote the MW since the book was released -- I am a writer, not a PR person, and the publishing industry is in huge transition just now. Authors kinda get left in the dust unless they are bazillion-sellers!

Anyway, I thank all the Camino-heads who have taken Zaida to their hearts and have helped her novel pay for itself! Zaida bint Mu´tamid was a real person, who grew up in Seville and traveled up what we know as the Via de la Plata to Sahagun, back when the camino de Santiago was first starting up. History gives us just a sketchy outline, so I filled in the colors.

Newfy, please let me (and us!) know what you and your wife thought of the story. If anyone has questions, we have a FB page "Friends of the Moorish Whore" and plenty of reviews on the Amazon page... or perhaps we could touch on them here. I am always open for questions and comments.

Woohoo! I have just acquired Kindle via a new iPad- and this will be the very first thing I download to read on it. I love your writing style so much Rebekah, and I am looking forward to reading this already...

I have been off on the Great Divide MTB. Bike Route. I will confess, I still have not read it.

However, A house guest, an internationally renowned architect and writer, who tends to be critical of everything, read it and loved it. I am impressed, and will be reading it soon. You won over a tough audience!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Reb,

I had no idea this book was in the works. Congratulations and well done. I have fired up the Kindle and have joyfully purchased it. Looking forward to reading it soon. You are amazing.

Cheers to you and Paddy,
John

Based on the comments here, I assumed the book was only available in a non-print format, which is a deal-killer for old set-in-their-ways folks like me. But I just checked on Amazon and was delighted to find that I can actually get the book in a print version. It's now in my shopping cart. Lots of good reviews on Amazon, congrats, Reb!

Buen camino, Laurie

Hi all, I’m starting my Camino Frances on May 12. I’ve booked my first night in SJPDP, but I’m starting to worry I need to book more. My plan was to take it day by day and just turn up, but lots...
Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
If you’re walking the Camino Portugues right now I’d recommend you avoid the complementario route into Pontevedra. While it is quiet and green and follows the river, it’s also a muddy mess. I...
