I hope the morning finds you rested ,greeting the day with a sense of wholeness, more than you were yesterday. I hope each and every step brings you closer to who you want to be, what you want to find, where the goal, that far off ultima thule is evergreen in your sight, heart and mind and... when you find yourself ready to take the first step, you smile.

Pilgrim, I hope the wind at your back carrys you on gentle warm wings
If you find yourself alone on some far off and lonely path, remember ..all roads lead somewhere..you are mearly here, going there...

And if you find yourself in the torment and toil of doubt,I hope you find in your steps as you look back, that you have left something
behind.

William that was just what I needed to read i needed that wind and some positive words. Thank you

Having a prayer to recite as one walks is especially important to those who walk for religious or spiritual reasons. When my wife and I walked the Camino, we carried two prayers that we recited each morning before beginning our walk. The first was from Joyce Rupp's book, Walk in a Relaxed Manner:

Guardian of my soul, guide me on my way this day.
Keep me safe from harm.
Deepen my relationship with you, your Earth, and all your family.
Strengthen your love within me that I may be a presence of your peace in our world.
Amen.

– Tom Pfeffer & Joyce Rupp

Inspired by the first, the second prayer was one we wrote ourselves:

We thank you Lord for this day and for all our blessings.
We thank you for calling us on this journey,
and we call upon St James to intercede for us as we ask that you guide and protect us as you have guided all the pilgrims who have preceded us.
We offer all our hopes, joys, sufferings and pains along the way as an act of faith in you, Father.
And we ask that you help us to walk in a relaxed manner in your presence each day.
Amen.

We laminated these prayers back-to-back on a small card which we carried in our waistbelt pocket.

Happy Easter and Buen Camino all pilgrims -- past, present, and future.

Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
Or do you prefer Cromwell's attitude? Put your trust in God and keep your powder dry. I am starting to get tired of the attitude that it isn't necessary to take reasonable care and thought...
I struggle with social anxiety and I was wandering if anybody with the same issue had a positive experience on the Camino walking alone. I saw lots of posts and videos people talking about forming...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Money stolen from bag on bed while sleeping. Estelle municipal hostel. Not a big inconvenience as my passport and credit cards were left.
