Need help using Blogger with iPhone

Since I'm two weeks from departure I thought it was a good idea to refresh my recollection on how to use blogger and my iphone. What a surprise -- I had a problem. When I get on the blogger ap on my phone, I have no trouble typing in letters, but when I try to "launch my camera" the screen switches to totally black. But the phone is definitely turned on to the camera function, because up on the left of the screen it says "auto" and up on the right, there's that little camera icon that allows you to switch the camera from front to back.

This is not disastrous because I see that I still can insert photos just going to the pictures on my "camera roll", but it was pretty easy last year just to open blogger, take a picture and know that it was already on the blog.

Any ideas about what I´m doing wrong? The camera on the phone is definitely working. I've just taken a picture to check. Thanks, Laurie

Laurie, I had a heck of a time using my camera to blog on the Madrid route.
I could only post one photo per blog.
I think Patricia Moak managed to do this... you might chat her up.

Laurie, I just pulled up blogger.
Mine worked adding photos to a test blog.
I'm not sure why yours isn't working.
Have you tried just turning the phone off then on again or perhaps seeing if there is an update?

Sometimes these issues are caused by differences in software. Is your phone operating system (iOS in the case of Apple iPhones) current? Is the Blogger app the current version? Generally speaking, the current app versions are tuned to the current OS versions. So, if you have updated the app without updating the OS, there can be built-in conflicts that manifest themselves in a variety of ways.

At some point, you will reach a situation where your phone hardware can no longer be updated with the latest OS software. That's when it's time to buy a new phone ...

If the app is being a little buggy, delete and reinstall the app.

Yeah I think:
1. Turn the phone off and on.
2. reinstall the app.
3. maybe load blogger in safari and post through the standard website.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
In practice, you will probably be taking photos during the day and writing up your blog in the evening. This means you will be using photos from your photo library anyway. You will take many more photos than can realistically be included in your blog.

I had forgotten that I had asked this question and never came back to answer it when I learned what was wrong. Sorry.

My problem was very easy to fix, by the tech staff at work at least. Turns out, that in the Settings, there is a separate entry for each app you have on your phone. When I click on "blogger" it shows that there are three things I have to allow Blogger to access (or not) -- photos, camera, cellular data. It was a simple matter of giving blogger access to my camera.

Just another little annoyance in a day of the life of a technologically challenged peregrina. Buen camino, Laurie
