Hello all,
I am a new Camino walker, starting the end of may. My very first walk will be from Tui to Santiago. Because of health problems (stroke) I choose a short walk with arranged sleep overs and luggage transport. If you have any tips for preparations, I would be very grateful. I am 59 years old, but noticed that many people my age and older are walking the Camino.I am so excited about it all, and looking forward to my adventure

Welcome on the forum Romika.
The 106 kms from Tui is a nice walk , not too difficult through a nice landscape and some nice towns., take walking poles (wandelstokken) with you you will face some steep downhill slopes between o Porriño and Redondela and some further on.
Take care for the weight of your backpack. (In Dutch- alles wat je niet mee neemt ,is meegenomen:) )

Thank you very much for youre reply, and yes I have packed and unpacked and will do so a few times I think before leaving. Taking many tips on board. Thanks

Hi Romola
The route from Tui is a lovely walk. Make sure you visit Pepe's bar in Padron

Bom Caminho
Pepes bar slipped my mind. It's a hole in the wall place but Pepe more than makes up for it. Somewhere in his phone is my picture. Thanks for the memory.

Start walking on a regular basis to get yourself ready. Be sure to bring a adequate supply of your medications and double bag them to keep them dry. If you can, bring a medical printout of your medications, the strength, and dosage.
If you are going to spend the night in Tui and you have the time, cross the bridge into Portugal and visit the old boarder fort. You will not be disappointed. The walk from Tui to Santiago is a beautiful walk and not very strenuous and yes visit Pepe's bar in Pardon he is quite the character. Buen Camino
