Welcome to the forum JenD you will find all the advice you want on this forum and all the friends you need on the Camino, so prepare for the adventure of your whole life. Beun Camino pilgrim

Yes Jen - you new, extended family just grew by about 500%. As pilgrim b said all your questions have probably been answered even before you formulate them in your mind. You can search the history (this forum has been running for 10 years), but are still entitled to asked again. With the amount of time before you walk you can cover just about the whole of the smallest state as part of your training. The 500 miles (800 km) is roughly 10 times the length if RI (I have friends in Oz whose cattle stations (ranches) are larger than RI!!).

Hi...I'm from Cranston RI. I am planning to do the Camino in September or Ocober 2016. Any others from New England here?

Hi JenD and welcome from one newbie to another! I'm not from New England but have had the pleasure of visiting there a few years back. It's my favourite part of the USA :) Good luck with all your planning for the walk!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Welcome to the house of fun as the song goes. Enjoy the company and gain an insight into the pilgrim community spirit while you plan and prepare. Buen Camino.

JenD,
Although not from RI, I spend most of the month of June in Newport. I train the sailing staff with Sail to Prevail at Fort Adams. Should you want to connect...let me know. PM with particulars.
Buen Camino,

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Thanks for the info! I probably won't be able to make it to the potluck but will try to attend another get-together in the future.

Hello Jen: I'm just north of you in Massachusetts and also belong to Boston Chapter of American Pilgrims. I hiked the Frances in 2012 and am returning in June to walk the Norte. Don't hesitate, as others in this forum have suggested to contact me by PM if you have questions in particular. John
