Nice names

The collection of names on the Camino Ingles are particularly nice for me (I'm Galician): Narón, Xubia, Neda, Fene, Perlio (from Pearl), Cabanas (reminds Copacabana), Miño, Presedo, Bruma sound really good to me.
For example, comparing to one stage on the Francés in León: El Burgo Ranero, Reliegos, Mansilla de las Mulas, Villamoros de Mansilla, Arcahueja,the Ingles clearly wins.
Neverthless I know that a native English speaker may have a different perception about names beauty and even Castilian people.

We liked 'Camino' on the Primitivo and 'Gas' on he Inglés. The first is similar to the places in the UK which have 'street' as part of their name. Usually found along the sites of the old Roman roads.
So many places on the Primitivo and the Inglés have names which sound lovely and so often describe the place too.

My very favourite is Cubo del Vino (wine bucket) on the VdlP. You can guess what had to be done there!

I fell in love with the Spanish language(s) while on the Camino and have kept up the passion by reading the Spanish poets.

...and for an English speaker, I can confirm that the places names - as the people along the Way - were a delight.

I have to admit that on my OP I have selected a strecht on the Camino Frances with particularly ugly names (to me).
El Burgo Ranero is The City Where Many Frogs Are Raised.
Mansilla de las Mulas is Mansilla (?) of the Mules.
Arcahueja I don´t know the meaning but sounds bad
Despite of this example I must say that I like most of places names on the different Caminos outside Galicia but I think that those in Galicia are the most beautiful ones.
In Cantabria on C. del Norte I like very much Santillana del Mar which is known as the town of the three lies because it is not Saint, not Flat and it is not near the Sea.

I could not let this thread go by without mentioning on the Del Norte the town of Poo for I once stood beneath the town sign with water to my knees and thus I will always remember being "knee deep in Poo".

I think I read somewhere that Mansilla means saddle ???

Our, then very small grandchildren, liked it when they saw we had walked through both Poo and Boo as they did not realise how to pronounce it. (Po-o and Bo-o)
Some of the descriptive names are interesting - like Villaviciosa. Was it really a vicious village?? or is it a corruption of something else?
