This will be old news to some but useful to others. There is a delightful bar opened directly opposite the municipal Albergue in Burgos. The Babia. Very pilg friendly (well they´d have to be wouldn´t they), veggie oriented food, the Sopa de Ajo is pilgrim rocket fuel, and they open at 7:00 am. Offering carrot juice to those who can´t cope with cafe-con-leche.

Burgos seems busy enough, two floors occupied and a cheerful buzz.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Babia. That is a great little cafe/bar. Very friendly people running it.

Thanks for this! I am always on the lookout for veg options :)

Is this the place?

I arrived a little after noon on a Saturday, and this fellow came in and did sort of a one-man band thing for the kids. It was very entertaining!

The owner was indeed very nice. He offered to watch our bags if we wanted to go tour the cathedral while we waited for the albergue to open.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Thanks also - yes always great to get first hand reports - will add it to our places to eat in Burgos - we aim to have an extra day here (in early Sept 15). Cheers

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
