Norte/Primitivo this May

I plan to walk Norte/Primitivo, starting May 16 from Santander. No clear plans yet about stages - I will add details later. Only the 1st stage clear - 31 km coastal to Boo.
I am walking alone with a bit of worry, or better to say respect to the climbs and descents on the Primitivo. Nevertheless, With 25 days for the walk, I believe I should succeed.
Any advice welcomed.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Starting in Santander, you’ll be all warmed up by the time you hit the Primitivo. I found that Wise Pilgrim is the best paper guide book in English - detailed, good maps, good list of accommodations. It’s also available as an app. Gronze.com is a good Spanish web site to bookmark on your phone. It’s the most up-to-date source. Also, if you want to avoid, as long as possible, the hook-up with the Frances, you could follow the Camino Verde from Lugo to Sobrado dos Monxes (back on the Norte), then follow the new camino route after Boimorto, which hits the Frances either near O Pedrouzo, or near the Santiago airport. Lots of information about those alternatives on this forum. Buen Camino!

I too think you will be warned up when you get to the primitivo. It is very beautiful. In my memory there are a few "spicy" climbs and descends ( which I find to be harder) In my memory none of them took more than 2 hours. (Your decision to take the coastal route from Santander is a very good one: it is a very beautifull stage)

Will be slightly ahead of you. Leaving Oviedo on the 8th. Also approaching it with some trepidation!! 76. But planning on listening to my body and seeing what happens!

I had to cancel my camino because of family issues. I hope to start in the second half of September. Buen camino to all who are more lucky.
