Nothing like mid life crisis as inspiration to do the walk,

Hello Folks,

New here...***waves***

lets see, almost 54, army brat style childhood with 15 schools in 4 countries in 8 years, stepped foot in 25 countries overall, 5 years ago had ex of 24 years cross tracks to the other team, career downsized one corporation to the next, boys grown up in their own world....

The I saw the movie "The Way", and thought,
1. "Wow, why have I not heard of this before?"
and
2. "I GOTTA DO THIS!!!!" :D :D

Thats it really.....working for large hi-tech firm in Ontario, Canada, day by day, knowing I can get the tap on the shoulder at any time.....no longer worried or caring about the future, my goal is 60 days after the pink slip will be day one of the hike on the trail.

I had the pleasure of looking at thousands of photographs from other travellers and reading dozens of their blogs, and am well aware of the pluses as well as the minuses.

Holding pattern for now, not an "if" but when.

Cheers,
Alan

Just do it. It won´t be anything like you imagine, but you will end up loving it.
It may even change your life.

I met someone at a friend's the other day who commented I must be having a mid-life crisis when she heard about my Camino in 2008 and my plans for this year. I wished afterwards that I had been quick enough to say it was no mid-life crisis- that I had never left my teenage rebellion behind! As Rebekah says Alan, Just Do It!

Hi!

Mid-life crisis. Mid career crisis. Any excuse, I say! :)

Buen Camino!

Crisis just makes things critical - that means, very important. It is clearly very important for you to do this. When will you start. I will be mid May. Hope to bump into you along the way.

Why does it have to be considered a crisis? How about a mid-life awakening with the realization that it is time for introspection and a change.
