It seems that making sure places are open on this route is common .

I’ve been following the posts of a Russian pilgrim on the fb group. ‘ walking guide to Via de la plata’
Ray Uzhegova had found albergue Oliva de Placencia, closed - but was offered a ride to alternative accommodation..(gratis) and returned next morning to pick up spot (gratis)..
Ray advises that she stayed in ‘hostel /restaurant El Avion.

This is 2nd hand information but posting so that anyone planning to stop there might make a call to confirm for themselves..

Ps Rays posts are fantastic and her pics are awesome.

Hi Oz Annie, I am also following Ray’s walk, and saw her posting re alg. Closed. We are a group of 3 walking and we already have a confirmed reservation for Oliva de Plasencia for April 20th... she might be mistaken or maybe it’s the translation, which is very poorly made... thanks!

Olivia Plasencia was full in May 2017 due to a village fiesta but Hostal Asturias picked lots of us up at Arca Caparra. Clean rooms and great food at Hostal. Also can arrange a taxi to Aldeanueva in am.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
