On the way to San Quirico d’Orcia, Italy ... Via Francigena

Another beautiful day on the path. All though I’m cold, I’m told by others walking ... that this a good time to be walking here (very hot in the summer). Some pictures of the countryside, a pastry I got at Torrenieri (the devil made me do it), some photos entering San Quirico d’Orcia, and some of the town.

Not the Devil, but the good Lord leading you to a sweet treat you obviously deserved. 👏👏👏

I lived in Italy for years and the Val D'Orcia was truly a slice of paradise, completely off the path of the tens of millions of tourists who come to Italy each year. You are indeed blessed. Savor every moment.

Thanks so much for sharing your walk...we are headed to the Via Francigena later this year and your posts and photos are wonderful!

What is it about pastries and coffee on any Camino? I always look forward to finding that neat little cafe or bar (or even the supermarket with a cafe in it) for a coffee and a pastry :)
