Palacio Guendulain in Pamplona permanently closed?

Camino Francis from SJPDP 12-5-23 / 17-6-23
In my obsession over my upcoming Camino starting on May 12th I read in one of the many books “On my way: Along the road to Santiago” where the author stayed at the hotel Palacio Guendulain in Pamplona. Although I’m mostly staying in regular albergues, I’m considering a splurge rest day in Pamplona and that place sounded amazing. On Booking.com it appears it may be permanently closed? does anyone know if that is accurate? Any other “old world” hotels you recommend?
Thanks!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
In Pamplona try the Hotel Norte y Londres which is similar to a good private club; all is comfy, gracious, very relaxed, ie. perfect
In 450 cumulative nights over 10 caminos it was one of the very few non albergues I ever stopped at. However I did and loved it.

Good luck with your plans and Buen camino.

EDIT: My response is wrong. The Hotel Norde y Londres is in Burgos not Pamplona. Mea culpa

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
