Hola!
I am a new member of this forum and am the founder of Books4Spain.com, an online bookshop specialising in books about Spain in English. Given its significance, the Camino has its own Theme on Books4Spain (with over 70 books) and our blog also has book reviews, articles and author interviews all related to the Camino.
I personally am fascinated by the Camino, its history, its architecture, its people etc. and perhaps the best book I have read on it so far is Walter Starkie's The Road to Santiago - alas no longer in print. Recently, I wrote an article for our blog on People, Places and Objects related to the Camino. For example the post included information on the following (and more):
• Saint Dominic de la Calzada (or Dominic of the Causeway)
• Aymeric Picaud
• Hugh of Cluny
• The Holy Grail
• Pilgrim’s hat and staff
• Cross of Saint James
• Tarta de Santiago
Monastery of San Juan de la Pena
Santa Cruz de la SerĂłs and it two churches
Church of Santa Maria la Real, in Sanguesa, Navarre
Monasterio de Santa MarĂa la Real
Abbey of Santo Domingo de Silos
You can read the whole post here http://books4spain.com/blog/people-places-and-objects-related-to-the-camino-de-santiago/
Phil Robinson who has walked the Camino (alas it is on my To Do list) reviews books about The Way for us. His most recent review was of El Camino de Santiago by Sergi Ramis and you can read Phil's review here http://books4spain.com/blog/review-of-el-camino-de-santiago-by-sergi-ramis/.
A lovely couple on New Zealand bought this book because they plan to walk the Camino Frances next year to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary - isnt that a fantastic way to celebrate!
I will post more reviews and articles in the coming months and also look forward to seeing your posts.
Many thanks,
Rod Younger
