Time of past OR future Camino
Past: Le Puy to Finnesterre, 2013
In the months of May through July, 2013, I walked the Camino from Le Puy en Velay to Finnesterre. My overall plan included having my wife and one of my daughters meet me in Sarria and walk the last 5 days into Santiago with them. They remained in Santiago while I walked on to Finnesterre. It was a thoroughly memorable 70 days for me, and my goal to return has finally been met with the opportunity this year to make it happen again. It has always been my hope that at least one of my twelve grandchildren would want to walk with me, and that also has come to fruition. We plan to start from Le Puy on 2 June, after spending our arrival day of 1 June exploring that wonderful city. Due to time restraints on my granddaughter's part, we will have to choose which portions of the total route to Santiago we will have to bypass. Our six weeks will allow us to cover the majority of the Way. I think we are equally excited about accepting this wonderful opportunity and challenge to complete this Pilgrimage. Bon Chemin and Buen Camino!! Hope to meet many of you on The Way.

Welcome to this forum. Happy for you. Enjoy your planning for your next Camino with your grandchild, and study this forum carefuly for your benefit. What I can add, is that people should walk at as young an age as possible: Will help them to take wise choices for the rest of their lives: The Camino is a lifechanger for many. Very good on you!

Lots of familiar names still on this roster, yours being one of them! Thanks for the welcome back. :)

@Pilgrim Farmer John I will probably just miss you, but I'll be setting out on my second Camino, this time with my grandson. Due to time constraints on his part, we'll only be walking for two weeks, but I hope it will inspire him to return. We'll be leaving SJPP on 4th July. Whether our paths cross or not, Buen Camino,

And "Buen Camino" to you, Sue, and grandson! I'm not sure where we will be on the 4th of July. Our journey will be "made to fit" with Grace's time schedule.

Oh, hello hello! This must be the same wise farmer who gave us all a valuable lesson on the differences between bulls, cows, etc. etc. in this thread.

It was exactly a month ago that I said how sorry I was that you were no longer here to be our bull expert.

Welcome back and what a wonderful walk you have in store with your grandaughter!

PFJ—It was great to finally meet you at the Veranda, and look forward to following your walk with your granddaughter. Perhaps it will inspire one of my grandchildren. Buen Camino.

Hi Dave! Thanks for the Shout-out! I fully intend to blog again, so maybe you can share with your grandchildren. And it was neat to meet you in person at our Dear Friend's island home.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Welcoe back and what a wonderful walk you have in store with your grandaughter!
Dear Peregrina! A true delight to know you are still an active and informative source here on the Forum! I have been walking daily since the 2nd day of this new Camino Year. I have found it takes substantially longer with this 75 year old body model than it did with my 66 year old body model to get where I need to be for adequate fitness level. Not so with Gracie, as she is a three sport athlete and is in tip top form. Ahhh, Youth!
Again, great to know you will be checking in with us.

Peace,
PFJ and Gracie
