Hi, everyone,
I don't know if you have been following OzAnnie's decision to skip Italy and go walk in Spain, but she is now in Toledo ready to walk the Levante to Zamora.

She posts a GPS question on that thread, and I am not able to help. I know there are some forum angels when it comes to GPS, so I am starting a new thread just to alert those of you who might be able to help but who haven't seen her post.

Go to this thread, post 35. Thanks so much! Buen camino, Laurie

Looks like Annie is being taken care of.

Now here is a forum tip. Between a poster's name and the post is a text string indicating what time the post was made and also the number of the post within the thread. Although they look like normal text they are actually links. If you click them that will readjust the display so the post starts at the top of your screen. (Scroll so my avatar disappears but you can still see #3. Now click the #3.) Now you can grab the URL and see that it has the thread name with the final slash followed by a hash/pound sign followed by the number of the post (the forum is up in the 800,000s now). If you post that full URL your browser will bring you right to that post.

See the post above by @Josefus who posted this:

Also, the forum software doesn't NEED the name of the thread just its number. Compare the link the @Josefus posted above with this one:

That is because we don't want renames of threads breaking conversations and links. The only thing that really counts for the forum software is the thread number. The thread name is a refresher for our brain so we can figure out the topic if we see the URL.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Sorted. !!!!
I hadn’t noticed @Josefus posted a second message where he unzipped the files.

It was slow work for a dufus like me but it looks like I’ve got kml files for stages 17-21 now on maps.me

When I first opened your link ., the top ones showing were all gpx files so I tried putting those onto wikiloc .. seemed to work but I don’t understand wikiloc.
Scrolling down I saw the kml ones !!!! Yay!!
So one at a time - They’re on.

I owe you one Josefus.
Many thanks to all. and again thanks to Laurie.
You take care of all of us.
Annie

A follow up Thankyou again to @Josefus who sent the final 6 stages 22-27 kml files unzipped of the amigos files (finishing in Zamora) to my email.

Great help. There is considerable difference in some sections to the Dutch tracks. The Dutch tracks whilst still useful to have in some places follow the carratera

Thanks Josefus.
Very grateful

Annie, what date do you plan on being in Zamora? We should be there 28,29 March.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Hi,,, please try the free app Windy Maps,,, it has virtually every Camino route already on it,,, ( most walks anywhere in the world) and you can download the area you are in,, and can then be used off-line,,, shows you where you are in relation to the Camino,,, I love it and it's simple!!

Thankyou Marty. I’ll check it out at home I think or I’ll end up with every app on my phone. Sounds good though.

Aargh. I was wondering too. No I shall be there well before then .
When I finish at Zamora; I will be getting the bus to Tábara to re-start there from (stop) last May. I will be in Tábara around 18 or 19 of March or possibly before., depending how i stretch my Levante stages.
I have booked Santiago 2 nights 4&5 of April before departing.
