Public vs Private Albergues

When my wife and I did the camino in 2021, most of the publicly run or municipal Albergues were not open because of the Covid pandemic. Have these Albergues come back on line?

Just walked from Leon to Santiago and stayed in quite a few municipal Albergues - no problem. Found the Gronze app very useful.

Most albergues on the Francés are back in business. However, they may not open until March or April. Gronze is your best bet and if you are on the camino already, phone ahead or ask the hospi at the albergue you are staying at about the next one down the track.

According to the Spanish tourism consul who visited our local Camino event today, the answer is "yes" and all covid-related restrictions in Spain have been lifted.
