Questionable albergue

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
You may want to think twice about staying at the municipal albergue in Astroga. This morning we woke up to no water, no wifi and no staff. Last night one of the bunk beds collapsed.

IMHO only the collapsed bunkbed is a problem of safety and should be looked into of course.

No wifi is a non issue.
No water is a bit of a nuisance but no major problem either.
There are more albergues where the hospi is not available in the morning. Pilgrims will know how to leave the albergue without the presence of the staff.

It is good that you gave your personal view but I tend to look at the Gronze website to give me more information regarding a certain albergue.
Seems most people who stayed here had a more positive idea.

Buen Camino.

Buen Camino.

I think a lot of folk would disagree, particularly with the water.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Like I wrote above : I am pretty sure next day a plumber would be called to look at the problem.
Regarding basic toilet facilities : better avoid Thomas' place in Manjarin then.

Not sure any plumber in the world is going to make it out before 8 am.

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Given that this one of the largest albergue on Camino not having either water or hospitaleros should be reason for concern. The bunk collapsing should also be a concern, from a safety point of view. Were you able to report any of these issues even after you had left?
For me my experience of the other albergue ( up near the cathedral), means that I would always recommend the municipal one.

They do in Holland so why not in Spain.

Especially when you call them for a emergency.
But if there are no hospitaleros present, who is going to call them? Peregrinos don't usually walk around with the phone numbers for emergency plumbers in every town they pass through. Most guide books omit that information.

Hi David , no water is bad luck for the early risers.
But in my opinion when the hospitalero is back in the alberque they will call the plumber to fix the problem .
