My daughter and i are planning on walking the Coastal Route starting in Irun in mid April. I've been reading that about 50% of this route is on asphalt/concrete roads rather than on natural paths. I've walked both Camino Frances and the Via de la Plata Routes. So, i'd appreciate some descriptions of the types of roads/paths and also the % of these roads on the overall walk. Our preference is to walk on earth paths and roads. Also, are there alternatives to these man made roads?

WE have ordered the 2 books from the Confraternity of St James. Can you suggest a Spanish book for this route?

Also, we'd like some info on a breathable rain poncho. the ones i've used really caused sweating inside!

thanks for your info!
